Sports cardiology has evolved from focusing on sudden cardiac arrest/death prevention strategies to promoting physical activity prescription as a form of prevention of cardiovascular diseases. The 11th edition of the EAPC Sports Cardiology course will provide participants with the opportunity to learn the latest evidence and best practices, to enhance the cardiac care of athletes of any level, from novice amateur individuals to elite competitive athletes.

Identify the incidence and aetiologies of sudden cardiac death in athletes.
Assess the value of genetic testing in sports cardiology
Review updates on the interpretation of the athlete’s ECG
Explore the importance of emergency response planning, including new initiatives
Select appropriate investigations for differentiating between physiology and heart disease in athletes
Manage athlete patients with various complex cardiovascular conditions according to their individual risk assessment
Provide an adequate physical activity prescription and sports advice for athletes with heart disease, allowing them to maintain or improve their cardiovascular fitness, enhance overall well-being and minimize their cardiovascular risk.
Implement shared decision-making for difficult situations with athlete patients and complex cardiovascular diseases.
